SB 142 -- KOREAN WAR LICENSE PLATE SPONSOR: Childers (Robirds) COMMITTEE ACTION: Voted "do pass by consent" by the Committee on Motor Vehicle and Traffic Regulations by a vote of 9 to 0. This bill allows owners of vehicles, other than owners of apportioned motor vehicles or commercial motor vehicles in excess of 18,000 pounds, to apply for Korean War Veteran license plates. Under the current law, only owners of passenger motor vehicles or owners of non-local, property-carrying commercial motor vehicles between 9,001-12,000 pounds may apply for a Korean War Veteran license plate. FISCAL NOTE: No impact on state funds. PROPONENTS: Supporters say that people with larger vehicles also want to display this plate on their vehicle. Testifying for the bill was Senator Childers. OPPONENTS: There was no opposition voiced to the committee. Robert Triplett, Legislative AnalystCopyright (c) Missouri House of Representatives
